Personal Leadership Philosophies

Develop and submit a personal leadership philosophy that reflects what you think are characteristics of a good leader. Use the scholarly resources on leadership you selected to support your philosophy statement. Your personal leadership philosophy should include the following:

  • A description of your core values. (Respect & responsibility)
  • A personal mission/vision statement. – (I am at my best when I am juggling more than one task at a time. .I will try to prevent times when I feel incompetent. I will enjoy my work by finding employment where I can enjoy helping patients and colleagues. I will find enjoyment in my personal life though I love spending time with my children and staying active at the gym. I will find opportunities to use my natural talents and gifts such as Decision making and accountability.)
  • An analysis of your CliftonStrengths Assessment summarizing the results of your profile
  • A description of two key behaviors that you wish to strengthen. (Gratitude, Supportive)
  • A development plan that explains how you plan to improve upon the two key behaviors you selected and an explanation of how you plan to achieve your personal vision. Be specific and provide examples.
  • Be sure to incorporate your colleagues’ feedback on your CliftonStrengths Assessment from this Module’s Discussion 2. (Thank you for your post explaining your top five signature themes after completing the StrengthsFinder Assessment. You mention utilizing these qualities when becoming a manager or supervisor to maintain healthy and trusting relationships with your staff, which I find a great goal. After completing my assessment, I realized that I use these qualities when I am not in a management position but when precepting new graduate nurses or new staff. According to Clifton (2021), “the most effective people are those who understand their strengths and behaviors.” You may do this already, and you can use these themes to improve your work with new staff.)
